The European Remanufacturing Council has joined the Industry 5.0 Community of Practice (CoP 5.0) in Brussels and participated in the first meeting of the year.
The objective of Industry 5.0 is to apply the digital technologies represented by Industry 4.0 to create a European industrial transition that is sustainable, human-centric and resilient. In our view, this ambition is going to be led, first and foremost, by businesses that are already sympathetic to at least one or two of the aims. This will include many of the individuals who lead remanufacturing and refurbishment businesses.
“These business leaders will be the first to adopt Industry 5.0, and by joining this developing community, I want to ensure they are recognized.” said David Fitzsimons.

The European Remanufacturing Network (ERN) project received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement 645984.
The project was so successful that in January 2017 it was decided to create a European Remanufacturing Council funded by business membership subscriptions.
The ERN project (and the creation of a European Remanufacturing Council) was inspired by the earlier work of the Remanufacturing Industries Council in the USA.
